A new member of Dalton International Wenzhou Dalton Elementary School

The Dalton school in Wenzhou / China has become an official Member of Dalton International.
 All trainings were led by  highly qualified Dalton International Consultants with a rich practical and theoretical experience. School is supported by a pedagogical team of experienced advisors to ensure that the objectives of Helen Parkhurst´s pedagogical principles are upheld. The implementation of Parkhurst´s principles  are examined by International Dalton Consultants appointed by Dalton International, who serve to maintain the high standard and integrity of Dalton International course programmes.

Online Dalton session for Postgraduate Studies in Poznan

The students of Postgraduate Dalton Studies in Poznan are currently following online sessions of Dalton International. Today´s session concerned `Competencies of Dalton teacher` led by Roel Rohner and Agata Sowinska. Students have been learning the key competences of a Dalton teacher, such as pedogocical, interpersonal, didactical, organizational, cooperative and reflective. After finishing the program of Dalton International the students will receive the certificate `International Dalton teacher`.

The studies takes place at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan under the supervision of prof. Renata Michalak, the member of Dalton International Research Platform. The University is taking an active part in International Dalton reasearch together with Austria, China,  and The Netherlands.

The school is currently following personalized online training to become an official International Dalton School.

The fifth number of Dalton Inspiration magazine


 
The fifth number of `Dalton Inspirations` magazine has just been published. The magazine is published every three months in cooperation with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, Polish Dalton Association and Dalton International. In the fifth edition of the magazine I presented the innovative methods in training ownership with authorial, practical examples as well as new vision on Contract Learning in a secondary Dalton School, aiming mainly at development of learning experience.
Dalton Inspiration  Magazine is published since 2017, each issue is filled with articles that address the questions parents, teachers and principles most often ask about Dalton schools. Parents, teachers, and friends of Dalton International can subscribe individually. Dalton Inspirations answers the questions that every Dalton teacher, parent  and director asks:
  • What will Dalton do for my child?
  • How can I be sure that it’s working?
  • What exactly is my child doing at school?
  • What can I do at home to help?
  • What can I do to support my child’s school?
Dalton Inspirations magazine will help you understand and appreciate Dalton philosophy, and apply Dalton insights both in theory and practice.

Online seminars for the team of teachers


Wenzhou Dalton Elementary school since January 2020 is attending the regular training of the team of teachers. The digital platform built in the school together with Dalton International is a tool to exchange expertise and develop the school´s own vision on responsibility, freedom, independency and cooperation. The first webinars focused mainly on tailoring the program of each student to match student´s interests and abilities, promoting independence and enhancing student´s social skills along with sense of responsibility towards the others. During the course teachers are studying Dalton philosophy, child development and psychology in the comfort of their homes with interactive online components that include videos, texts, forums where they can chat with mentors and each other.

The specially adjusted program for the school will be realized for three academic years, the process is coordinated by Executive director of Dalton International, Agata Sowinska. Next course start date is April 29. The school is currently following a process of becoming International Dalton School.
